Diesel Fleet Mechanic
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance functions, both on site and on the road.
Performs preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis as determined
Chassis components repairs and maintenance;
Air and hydraulic braking systems;
Engine repair and maintenance;
Suspension, drive-train and steering systems;
Heating and air conditioning systems;
Maintenance welding and fabrication;
Identify the source of the malfunctions using variety of electronic tools
Trouble shoots and repairs mechanical malfunctions.
Repairs engines, drive trains, front and rear ends, all air, electrical and hydraulic systems on Company owned equipment.
Repairs all items not meeting D.O.T. requirements; informs supervisor if not immediately repairable.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent
Yellow Iron Mechanic
Repairs as needed equipment (including, but not limited to, bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front end loaders, asphalt paving machines, milling machines)
Diagnoses and repairs differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems.
Services and maintains other equipment such as light plants, water pump, welders, and other equipment.
Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services. Performs inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Utilizes equipment computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
Performs maintenance related work as required.
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
Performing other duties as assigned.
